My semester offically ended Sunday at around 7pm when I turned in my final grades. I spent the rest of the night playing Mario Kart and watching the Celtics-Cavs game seven (it was Tivo’ed). Speaking of which, that was such a glorious game.
I don’t start summer school until June 8th at which time I will be on vacation with some good friends in Florida. I’ll miss a week of inensive reading German. Because of that, I started German for Reading Knowledge last night.
I also decided to clean out the office because I am loosing my office at the school next Monday. Yesterday, I took out everyting (and I mean everything) from the office and started to put it back together with an emphasis on study space. I discovered I have too many books. My legs are sore today from picking up and moving piles all day. Meredith and I ordered some more bookshelves to accomodate them. I am going to finish sorting through my books then.
I have given myself a personal goal of learning a thousand Latin words and a thousand Greek words in the next year. If I learn 20 words per week in each language, the goal is attainable. Tonight, besides writing this post and sorting out some books, I am going through and organizing those 2,000 cards into stacks of 20, spliting up the starting letter of each card in a given stack.
I am looking forward to my upcoming language studies. We will see how it goes.
