The Sports Guy takes on the Allen Iverson situation; I concur with
him. Whoever nabs AI is getting a heck of a steal. In my hope of hopes,
I want him to get traded to Miami and be the back-up point guard. I
would love to see Wade and Shaq backed up by AI and Zo. I don’t know if
there would be enough ball to go around if all three started. Then
again, Miami would have to have a healthy starting point guard. (They
are just too old in the PG and SF positions.) Iverson would be the
ultimate spark plug off the bench. It won’t happen, but it would have
been pretty cool.
In classic Sports Guy fashion, he is able to pull in a absolutely hilarious and accurate description of an off topic athlete:
Barkley: A 6-foot-4 power forward with a weight problem
who somehow doubled as a dominant rebounder and low-post player, as
well as the greatest runaway train on fast breaks there ever was.
Nobody took a charge from Barkley from 1985 through 1996. It never
happened. Nobody ever caused more players to cower for their lives than
Barkley on a fast break.

I read this article earlier this week. Simmons is a genius!
Iverson to the Heat as a backup? AI ain’t backin’ up nobody…
Looks like the Nuggets and Celts are the frontrunners. Even thought the
Celts are in the same division, I think King makes a move that helps
them out. Can you imagine Pierce and Iverson on the same team? The
Celts lock up the Atlantic East the day they getAI…
Oh I know - it is just my fantasy.
I keep wondering who he would be a great fit for. I am a guy who thinks
you need balance in all positions to win, not just one superstar and a
bunch of role players (see philly and the t-wolves), so I am not sure
where he would be the best fit.
the Heat like AI. He is a great player, but Miami doesn’t need a guy
who thinks he donesn’t have to practice. Last I checked–and this could
have changed–Miami needs all of the practice they can get because they
really haven’t changed personel.
I think AI is all about wining - esp now. On the court he gives 210%.
He is a warrior with a capital spear. Coach and Shaqdaddy will take
care of the locker room issues.
Miami is too old this year, I’ll give you that.
