I usually am a big fan of conservative talk radio. They do their
job, which is to entertain me and stimulate my mind. A lot of the times
I agree with them, some times I half and half, and sometimes I
completely disagree with them. I love listening to Boortz, Savage, Beck, and O’Reilly. They all are very entertaining and I debate them in my head as I am driving along.

Thanks for the compliment!
But are you saying I am brash and arrogant? Just curious… :)
Michael Savage turned me into a liberal. When I graduated from college,
I was a pretty solid democrat in ideology (i.e. just left of center).
But then I started listening to Michael Savage, and on top of that
started working at Biola. Between these two things, they turned me into
the left-wing radical that I am today. The more Savage would go off
about thigns, the more it would push me to the left.
But they also sharpened me, and made me understand my point of view and articulate it in much better ways.
But it is interesting to me that you don’t like Laura Ingram but do
like Savage. Some of my biggest problems with Savage are the exact same
things that you don’t like about Ingram. He is rude and abrasive, and
refuses to listen to someone who disagrees with him. And he is even
rude to people that do agree with him.
But then again…I still listen…
I think that it might be Laura’s actual voice that drives me away. Very shrill at times.
Very shrill at times.
Ah yes…very true.
She reminds me of Janeane Garofalo at Air America - they are both just
partisan shrills who don’t want to hear another perspective.
I can agree with that assesment.
and I am not calling you “brash and arogant” hehe
How can you not like Laura Ingraham? I wish I could listen to her in
Charleston, SC, as far as I know the local station that was carrying
the show dropped her. She didn’t get good ratings b/c she was up
against Boortz and had Imus to run off any lead in listeners.
Love this blog!

I don’t know. I like alot of people like her, but she just strikes a bad chord with me.
I am a Conservative (but not a Neocon). I find Laura
Ingram and those of her ilk disgusting. She spreads
lies and misinformation. Her arrogance is astound-
ing and her abilities limited. America has taken a
wrong turn since 9-11, it is times we turned back.
To be a Conservative is to be cautious, thinking,
compassionate, fiscally prudent. We have become
none of these things in America and the so called
Conservatives are angry, knee jerk reactionists,
and half wits.
John,
I hear you. It is hard to know which way to go. Before 911 I loved the
idea of being an isolationist in our foreign policy, and I think that
GW did too. You know I did not know a think about his except tax cuts
to stir the economy and the idea that we should not be the world’s
police. After 911 however, changed my stance on foreign policy. I think
I stand with the neo-libertarians. I am not a neo-conservative, but I
don’t think they are evil either. I know that a lot of people seem to
use the prefix neo to denote evil, but I don’t and that is not what it
means.
Has being conservative always meant being compassionate? I thought that
being conservative meant personal compassion and not governmental
compassion.
Ah, fiscal prudence, what a noble mythical beast. Everyone claims to
have seen her, but non have caught her… especially this
administration and this congress. I’d like to see a budgetary line-item
veto that had to be ratified by congress.
Anyway, thanks for the comment John.
