Question of the Day: Music

Henry Imler March 30th, 2008

I needs some help something fierce. My meager music collection has gotten stale - any recommendations?

In the Court of the Crimson King has been a long time favorite of mine. Very powerful. I lost my copy but, if I ever see it for sale at a used CD Store, I’m grabbing it.

I actually heard Ravi Zacharias quote from it the other day. It was surreal.

    Good stuff though.

Wow. You’re asking for people on the blogosphere for music recommendations? Are you sure you know what you’re in for?

I checked out your last.fm profile and we seem to have some overlapping taste (Sufjan Stevens, White Stripes, Beck, The Flaming Lips). Here are my top album discoveries of the last few years:

    Real Gone by Tom Waits
    Ships by Danielson
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel
Micah P Hinson and the Opera Circuit by Micah P Hinson

Thanks for those of you that have posted recommendations - I’ll try to track those down and check them out.

    Swords. Get the Metropolis CD.

If you can still buy it.
